Saturday Jul 28, 2018
Saturday Jul 28, 2018
What makes for community? How do we cultivate community for the common good?
In this minisode, the 2018 Summer interns of QC Family Tree reflect upon their experiences and y talk about what practices and framework we need in order to cultivate community.
You'll hear the voices of Langley Hoyt, Gabrielle Corti, Zariah Nolan, Greg Jarrell, and Helms Jarrell. We recorded this minisode halfway through the intern's 10 week long summer internship. The internship will wrap up with an epic Big Trip with the QCFT youth to Washington DC, July 29-August 4th. You can help to sponsor the Big Trip. Every $20 you give helps to get us 1 mile further down the 800 mile road. qcfamilytree.org/donate

Self Care and Sabbath as Resistance with special guest Angela Whitenhill
Monday Jun 11, 2018
Monday Jun 11, 2018
“Do you already know that your existence--who and how you are--is in and of itself a contribution to the people and place around you? Not after or because you do some particular thing, but simply the miracle of your life. And that the people around you, and the place(s), have contributions as well? Do you understand that your quality of life and your survival are tied to how authentic and generous the connections are between you and the people and place you live with and in?
Are you actively practicing generosity and vulnerability in order to make the connections between you and others clear, open, available, durable? Generosity here means giving of what you have without strings or expectations attached. Vulnerability means showing your needs.”
― Adrienne Maree Brown, Emergent Strategy: Shaping Change, Changing Worlds
In this episode, Angela Whitenhill and I talk about Self Care and Sabbath as Resistance.
